Employee Health and Fitness Week 2018

Our week long celebration of Employee Health and Fitness stems from National Employee Health and Fitness Day (NEHFD). This is a national observance celebrated the third Wednesday in May (May 16, 2018). It was created to promote the benefits of physical activity for employees.

Similar to last year, Be Well will take the Be Well Health Hut out to different places on campus throughout the week. With the semester ended, this event is a celebration of the individual successes of the past year. It is also an opportunity to learn more about the resources that are available across campus to Move More. Stop by the Health Hut for some delicious healthy lunch, engage with campus resources, and sign up for a chance to win a Fitbit.

Be Well encourages our campus community to consider bicycling as a clean, fun, and healthy way to get to work on Friday May 18th “Bike to Work Day.” There are several group rides in throughout Knoxville being organized by i bike knx. We know that biking to work may not be feasible at this time, but we encourage everyone to be active and take advantage of the warm summer months where and whenever they can.

Biking or not, stop by the Be Well Health Hut on Friday Morning for some coffee and treats!
