Recognizing creative abilities and finding ways to expand knowledge and skills.

Intellectual wellness encourages learning. It is important to engage in creative and mentally-stimulating activities over the course of the lifespan. Maintaining curiosity and a strong desire to learn promotes a more balanced life.

Full-time regular faculty and staff may enroll without payment of maintenance fees for up to a maximum of nine undergraduate or graduate credit hours per term/semester. Part-time regular faculty and staff working 50 percent time or more may enroll without payment of maintenance fees based upon their percent of effort.  In addition, state law provides full-time regular employees with a fee waiver for one course for credit per term at any state supported college, university, or area vocational-technical school. Faculty and staff at the University of Tennessee have access to campus libraries to reserve books, periodicals, and videos. Library Express delivers books for free right to your department and pick them back up when you are finished with them.
