The Student Health Center Pharmacy stocks a variety of smoking cessation products, including prescription medications and over-the-counter nicotine replacement therapy products such as nicotine patches and gum.
Most insurance plans cover prescribed smoking cessation products and other preventive options. Check with your provider for plan specific details.
Students can make an appointment at the Student Health Center to see a primary care provider for any questions regarding their medical options for tobacco cessation.
The Center for Health Education and Wellness and Be Well offer smoking cessation classes at no cost to students, faculty, and staff. This series of interactive, hour-long sessions is designed for groups of individuals interested in quitting tobacco use. Led by trained facilitators, the class provides strategies and resources that have been proven as effective approaches for quitting. The class helps participants reflect on and understand their own experiences with tobacco so they can tailor their quit attempt to what works best for them.
